Olga Guerrero-Shorter
Hola! My name is Olga Guerrero, and I was born and raised in Miami, Fl. I have been living in Lititz, Pa, with my husband and children since 2008. My parents migrated to Miami, Florida from Cuba. My first language is Spanish, and I am fully bilingual, although I enjoy speaking Spanglish most of the time. I graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s in Health Science and a minor in Psychology. I pursued a career in medicine for many years after graduation until I was rerouted back to my first original love and why I attended college. Education! My love for education began when I was a child. I remember setting up my own classroom with my siblings, where I was the teacher. I always wanted to work with children, teach them with love and kindness, and imagine a classroom full of children happy to learn.
Today, I am proud and fortunate to work at Montessori Academy of Lancaster as the Spanish educator. It has been a real joy to see the children’s desire to learn the Spanish language. As I continue to work with Montessori Academy, my goal is to expand this opportunity for children in Lancaster County and across many more cities via Zoom. I want to offer children the chance to be introduced to the Spanish language at an early age in a fun and enthusiastic environment. I hope to continue to grow my classroom in the years to come and reach as many families as possible!

This is why I love teaching with hands on activities, creating projects, reflecting on our work to grow. I have been teaching at Manheim Township as a 2nd grade Spanish Immersion teacher for over 15 years.
My passion and heart’s mission is to help my students bond with Mother Nature and to recognize the beauty and the responsibility we have to love and care for our planet.
